A twelve-movement extended work for SATB choir, soloists, keyboard (organ or piano), and instruments.

A twelve-movement extended work for SATB choir, soloists, keyboard (organ or piano), and instruments. The text by Richard Leach is a Lutheran re-envisioning of the Requiem Mass that is a celebration of God in Christ’s victory over death. Including settings of the Kyrie, Sanctus, and Agnus Dei, the work as a whole is confessional rather than intercessory or triumphalistic.

The music by Amanda Husberg—composer of two of the most popular new tunes in Lutheran Service Book, SARAH-ELIZABETH and LOVE’S LIGHT—was written to reflect the more joyous nature of the text. Written in a variety of styles, the movements may be used independently for numerous occasions throughout the Church Year, or the work may be performed as an integrated concert piece.
