Sánchez argues that this hope is not a dream or fantasy, but a trust in someone, in the person of Jesus Christ through whom the kingdom of God is manifested in our world. Christian eschatology, therefore, maintains a balance between the fulfillment of the promises of God in Christ and by the Spirit in the here and now and the complete realization of the divine plan in the future.
