Brought to the Water
A modern hymn concertato for unison choir/congregation, piano, flute, oboe, with optional guitar and bass.
A modern hymn concertato for unison choir/congregation, piano, flute, oboe, with optional guitar and bass by Jonathan Kohrs of a new text by Lisa M. Clark. A flowing accompaniment with instruments weaving in and out complements a text that proclaims the life of a baptized child of God. Use this at Baptisms, the Baptism of Our Lord, and with themes of baptismal life, sanctification, and mission.
Brought to the water and cleansed through the Word,
Filled by the Spirit and claimed by the Lord—
Live as His children, dear saints of our God;
Follow the path where your Savior has trod.
Once bitter enemies, now precious friends,
Blessed and redeemed by the grace that won't end:
Gather the lonely, the hurt, and the lost.
Bring them to Jesus, who covers the cost.
Marked on your brow by the seal of the Lamb,
Boldly go forth to the throne of I AM.
Though you are childlike, no merit to claim,
He calls you home, for you're wearing His name.
