About the author
Dr. Stephen J. Carter serves as interim pastor at Glendale Lutheran Church in St. Louis County. After serving as a parish pastor for fifteen years, he joined the faculty of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, as professor and administrator. He served at Concordia Publishing House for fifteen years, first as vice president of editorial services and then as president. A graduate of Concordia Senior College (B.A.), Concordia Seminary, St. Louis (M.Div. and STM), and United Theological Seminary, Dayton (DMin), Dr. Carter has written six books in the area of devotional and spiritual growth and several Bible studies. His passion is helping adults grow in the Word of Christ for a life of connecting people to Jesus. He and his wife, Gail, live in St. Louis.
