Living from 1837 until 1871, this lesser known composer wrote many charming works. Here he provides organ noels (in the manner of Daquin and Dandrieu) for each Sunday from the beginning of Advent through the Epiphany of Our Lord. Many are based on familiar French carols. All can be played on the manuals alone. Edited by the Parisian cathedral organist Carolyn Shuster. A brief commentary is included.
