Our Savior Lives! (Full Score)
This majestic concertato is perfect for use on Easter Sunday and throughout Eastertide
This majestic concertato is perfect for use on Easter Sunday and throughout Eastertide. The text by Michael Henrichs begins triumphantly at the empty tomb and explores other key events of the Easter season, such as doubting Thomas, the Emmaus disciples, and Christ’s ascension, proclaiming “Alleluia!” again and again.
Our Savior lives! Death’s stone is rolled away.
Come, see the grave in which our Brother lay.
Be not afraid! This is His triumph day!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Our Savior rose and angels thrill to bid:
“Why do you seek the Christ among the dead?
He is not here, but risen as He said.”
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Our Savior loves with absolution pure,
His glorious wounds dispelling doubts that lure.
My Lord and God, make now our faith secure.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Our Savior comes as evening shadows fall.
He breaks our bread, appearing now to all.
O stay with us, that we Your words recall.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Our Savior sits at God’s right hand above.
True God, true Man, He blesses us in love.
Lord, quickly come; all sin and death remove.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Our Savior reigns, exalted on His throne
Where heav’nly host sing praise to Him alone.
On that last day, their song will be our own.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
O risen Christ, Your blood makes all things right.
Creator God, to You be pow’r and might.
Spirit of Truth, You clothe us all in white.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
