Psalm Antiphons for a Time of Penitence
Twenty Psalm antiphons to be paired with commonly appointed Psalm texts for the Lenten season.
A collection by Carl F. Schalk of twenty Psalm antiphons to be paired with commonly appointed Psalm texts for the Lenten season for two-, three-, and occasionally four-part choir. The antiphons are designed to be sung with a chosen Psalm tone. The antiphon is sung first by the choir, the Psalm text is then sung by the congregation or alternately between choir/cantor and congregation, and the antiphon is repeated at the conclusion of the Psalm. Includes antiphons for Psalms 6, 19, 22, 27, 28, 31, 32, 42, 43, 45, 51, 91, 105, 115, 116, 126, 130, and 142.
