Based on a favorite hymn for Lent and Holy Week, “Sing, My Tongue, the Glorious Battle,” here is a new hymn concertato by John A. Behnke. Featuring the tune FORTUNATUS NEW by Carl F. Schalk (1929–2021), this setting doesn’t require large forces and may be sung by choir alone or with congregation. Men and women have opportunity to sing their own stanzas with descants.
