Full score
This musical setting of the Passion of Christ is intended for use primarily in times and places of liturgical worship. The St. John text is traditionally read as the Gospel for Good Friday. Performance requires a mixed choir as well as one or more soloists for the following parts: (1) Evangelist (tenor); (2) Jesus (bass); and (3) the individuals comprising the Synagoga (an alto or a baritone, or both) for the parts of the Maid, Peter, the Officer, the Servant, and Pilate. In an alternate mode of presentations the solo parts may be read instead of chanted.
