Full Score of this powerful concertato for SATB choir, congregation, and organ with optional brass quartet and timpani by Benjamin M. Culli. The extended introduction opens with a rousing fanfare, but also includes a quieter section in which the hymn tune and various countermelodies are shared between organ and brass. An energetic a cappellasetting of stanza three is followed with majestic brass writing and a soaring descant in stanza four. Full score includes reproducible parts for 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, horn in F (substitute for Trombone I), and timpani. Choral octavo available (98-4212). This is the Hymn of the Day for Proper 7C.
