A Mighty Fortress Is Our God: Partita on Ein feste Burg (Reformation Partitas No. 1) A Mighty Fortress Is Our God: Partita on "Ein feste Burg" (Reformation Partitas No. 1)

This partita by Michael D. Costello is based on Martin Luther’s best-known chorale and utilizes both its rhythmic and isometric versions. The first movement may also be used as an accompaniment to the rhythmic version, just as the second may be used as an accompaniment to the isometric version. A lively fughetta completes the set of six movements.

Savior of the Nations, Come: Partita on Savior of the Nations, Come: Partita on Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland" (Reformation Partitas No. 2)

Jacob B. Weber provides a six-movement partita on Luther’s Advent hymn, NUN KOMM, DER HEIDEN HEILAND. Designed to offer colorful treatment from start to finish, this partita may be performed as a whole or as individual movements throughout the service.

Dear Christians, One and All, Rejoice: Partita on Nun freut euch (Reformation Partitas No. 3) Dear Christians, One and All, Rejoice: Partita on "Nun freut euch" (Reformation Partitas No. 3)

The Reformation-era hymn “Dear Christians, One and All, Rejoice” never goes out of style! This collection by Kevin Hildebrand contains seven variations of varied ability levels, with some variations as manuals only. Variations contain a great range of dimensions: thoughtful, majestic, and regal.

O Lord, We Praise Thee: Partita on Gott sei gelobet und gebenedeiet (Reformation Partitas No. 4) O Lord, We Praise Thee: Partita on "Gott sei gelobet und gebenedeiet" (Reformation Partitas No. 4)

This six-movement partita by Kenneth T. Kosche provides grand, intimate, and hymnic settings with a variety of tonal colors. The partita may be played as a whole, or the organist can select movements to introduce the hymn, to serve as a prelude or postlude to a worship service, or play in between stanzas sung by the congregation.

Thy Strong Word: Partita on Ebenezer (Reformation Partitas No. 5) Thy Strong Word: Partita on "Ebenezer" (Reformation Partitas No. 5)

The sturdy tune EBENEZER receives an extensive treatment in this five-movement partita by Benjamin M. Culli. The first movement can function as an alternate hymn harmonization. The Meditation is lovely and sweet, creating a surprising but engaging mood for the tune. The Alla Marcia is regal, the Scherzo playful. The thrilling finale, a toccata, is challenging and requires great endurance, but is absolutely rewarding.

We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God: Partita on Thaxted (Reformation Partitas No. 6) We Praise You and Acknowledge You, O God: Partita on "Thaxted" (Reformation Partitas No. 6)

This arrangement of the hymnic Te Deum, THAXTED, is a partita by Jeffrey Blersch in five movements: a majestic entrada, a setting of the hymn that may be used to accompany congregational singing, a trumpet tune, a slow movement featuring the strings of the organ, and a dance-like finale. Organists are sure to find it elaborate, accessible, and fun.
