The Midnight Mass of Marc-Antoine Charpentier is a most charming setting of the Mass Ordinary for soloists, four-part mixed chorus, flutes, strings, and organ. It owes much of its tunefulness and jubilant character to the ten traditional noels, or French Christmas carols, which Charpentier borrowed and on which most of the music is based. These are settings of the noels only, not the full mass.
