Three Easy Settings for Two-Part Choir
Arm your choir with three robust and accessible arrangements for two-part choir with organ or piano.
Arm your choir with three robust and accessible arrangements for two-part choir with organ or piano by Henry V. Gerike. The first in the trio, “Now Thank We All Our God,” combines the first stanza of the hymn and the tune NUN DANKET ALLE GOTT with verses of comfort from Psalm 31, including “My times are in Your hand,” appropriate for times of thanksgiving. At Christmas, your choir will love the cheerful setting of “On Christmas Night All Christians Sing.” “Commit Thy Way unto the Lord” is based on Psalm 37:5 and is especially appropriate for confirmation and graduation and times of trust; incorporated into the setting is a stanza of “If Thou But Trust in God to Guide Thee” with its tune WER NUR DEN LIEBEN GOTT. Utilizing unison and easy two-part writing, these choral works can encourage smaller choirs and are also appropriate for junior high and high school choirs, especially those in the cambiata range.
