When the darkness claims the moon,
Watch and wait for My returning.
Stay awake! I’m coming soon.
Keep your lamps alive and burning.
Train your gaze upon the skies;
I will strengthen weary eyes.
Peace, take heart; I will come back,
Though the hours seem long and dreary.
When enduring each attack,
Turning vision dim and bleary,
Know that I endured the grave—
Conqu’ring hell, your soul to save.
Tell the world the time is near.
I will come in awesome glory.
Wait in hope and do not fear;
Never cease to tell My story.
To all corners, share the Word
Till all ears have clearly heard.
Surely, I will come again;
Heaven’s powers will be shaken.
Hear the saints all cry, “Amen!”
Earthen treasures now forsaken.
I will bring you to My side;
There in peace, we will abide.
