This Easter cantata is nothing other than a concerto on the most beautiful motives from the first part of Heinrich Schütz's Resurrection History.  Although Schütz probably intended that the four soloists sing everything but the concluding section, a choral performance is equally effective if all parts have the expressiveness of good solo singers.  Based on the scripture text from John 20:13–24, this work has been edited by Richard T. Gore. English and German texts.
