Kevin Hildebrand
Kevin Hildebrand is Kantor at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Indiana. There, he teaches classes such as music fundamentals, vocal development, and music for worship. In addition to teaching theory and voice, Kevin also gives organ lessons and leads the annual organist workshops held by the seminary. When he isn’t involved in seminary life, he performs in organ recitals and leads hymn festivals throughout the United States and Canada. He attended Concordia University Chicago and continued his studies at the University of Michigan, where he received his master’s in music, and at Concordia Theological Seminary, where he received his master’s in theology. In addition to his accomplishments as an organist, Kevin is founder and director of the Seminary Children’s Choir, a group made up of children from the community, and is also director of the youth choir at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and School in Fort Wayne. Armed with this wide background of musical experience, he has composed many well-known pieces for organ and choir. His hymn tune LORD OF LIFE and other hymn harmonizations are represented in Lutheran Service Book. He is the editor of the popular Hymn Prelude Library series.
